Woman Fatally Shot By Police In Montebello After Allegedly Attacking Boyfriend

MONTEBELLO (CBSLA.com) —   Police in Montebello said a woman was fatally shot Saturday evening by law enforcement when she went on the attack against her boyfriend.

The woman was pronounced dead after being transported to a nearby hospital.

The woman was apparently having a verbal altercation with a boyfriend around 4 p.m. outside a motel pool in the 7700 block of Telegraph Hill.

The fight escalated and police were called to the Quality Inn. The couple, a Latino and a Latina, both 28, were not patrons of the motel.

The female victim allegedly told the motel front desk her boyfriend had taken or stolen her purse. They said she began to also physically assault the man.

Police said the woman got in her vehicle to leave the location. That's when they said she decided to make a U-turn. They said the woman deliberately aimed her vehicle at a Montebello police officer and her boyfriend. That was when police said the officer-involved shooting took place.

The investigation into the cause and circumstances of the shooting is on-going. Montebello Police are being assisted by LA County Sheriff's Homicide Detectives.
