Search Underway To Find Police Impersonator Who Carjacked Hollywood Hills Man

HOLLYWOOD HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday searched for a suspect who stole a vehicle from a man while posing as a police officer in a Hollywood Hills neighborhood.

The incident unfolded around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of North Clark Street, according to police.

The suspect, who was dressed in plain clothing, flashed a badge, a gun and handcuffs at the resident before stealing a gray 2013 Toyota Corolla.

The suspect's accomplice fled from the scene in a dark Dodge Charger that has a blue light.

CBS2's Jasmine Viel spoke with Troy Adams, who lives near the victim.

"This is outrageous," Adams said. "Nothing like this has ever happened in this neighborhood. I've lived here for 13 years and have never seen anything like it."

Neither of the vehicles had been recovered as of Wednesday morning.

Both suspects are considered armed and dangerous.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about this incident has been urged to contact the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Division.
