Veterans Day is Friday, November 11, and many establishments are honoring those that have served our country with freebies! Check out this list, courtesy of The Orange County Register, of companies that are giving free meals, haircuts and more!
 
1. Free entrance: National parks and monuments that usually charge a fee are free for everyone, not just veterans, on Friday.
 
2. Free haircuts: Great Clips is offering a free haircut to all veterans and military – or a card to return for a free cut on another day. And non-military customers who buy a service at Great Clips on Friday will be given a free haircut card to give to the veteran of their choice. Cards can be redeemed until Dec. 31. 3. Free steak: Black Angus will give you a free top sirloin steak and potatoes, broccoli and garlic butter. I'd make a reservation now for that one, as I'm sure it will be packed. Learn more: www.blackangus.com
 
4. Free thrills: Each service member and one guest can get into Knott's Berry Farm free now until Nov. 18 and then again Nov. 28-Dec. 16. Spouses of deployed personnel are also eligible, as are widows and widowers with ID. Bring up to six more guests for a discounted rate. 5. Free Grand Slam: Denny's is offering a free Build Your Own Grand Slam breakfast from 5 a.m. to noon, including four items such as pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit or hash browns.
 
6. Free pirates: Veterans and active-duty military can receive free admission to the Pirate's Dinner Adventure show in Buena Park, general seating only. Guests pay a discounted $35.15 adults or $30.15 kids. Reservations required. Mention code PDAVET16 at the time of purchase. Learn more
 
7. Free buffet: Hometown Buffet is offering a free buffet and drink to all military and veterans. That's nice because drinks are generally not included in these offers. Find locations: www.hometownbuffet.com
 
8. Free meal: BJ's Restaurants & Brewhouse is offering a free entree priced under $12.95 at any BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse nationwide, dine in only. Friends and family of veterans are also invited to raise a glass of beer.
 
9. Free mission: Visit the beautiful Mission San Juan Capistrano for free any day from Friday through Sunday. Location: 26801 Ortega Hwy, San Juan Capistrano. Learn more
 
10. Free pancakes: Vets and active duty military can get a free "Red White and Blue" short stack of buttermilk pancakes at IHOP from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday only. Learn more
 
11. Free burger: Red Robin is offering a free Red's Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Steak Fries. At participating locations only. Learn more
 
12. Free lunch: Sizzler is offering a free lunch from one of three entrée choices: a six-ounce tri-tip steak, a single Malibu chicken or a half dozen fried shrimp. Free beverages are coffee, iced tea or a fountain drink. This is good until 4 p.m., dine in only at participating locations. Learn more
 
13. Free Mimi's: Veterans and military can get a free entree if they buy a beverage on Nov. 11, from a special menu that includes Grilled Chicken & Frites, Chicken Chop salad, Brioche Cheeseburger, or Farmhouse Tacos. If you can't make it Friday, you can still order and pay a discounted $5.99 from the special Veterans Menu on Saturday and Sunday.
 
14. Free fries: Stop the presses on this one, folks. From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. get free fries or a baked apple pie at participating So. Cal. McDonald's locations. Don't run over there all at once, now.
 
15. Free roadhouse: Texas Roadhouse is offering a free entree from a special menu including a 6-ounce steak, pork chops, chicken fried steak, grilled chicken salad and a beverage. No other coupons or discount offers accepted. Learn more
 
16. Free entree: Mama's on 39 cafe in Huntington Beach is offering veterans a free entree. Location: 21022 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach.

18. Free Fridays: TGI Fridays is offering a free lunch menu item up to $12 in value from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Find a location here: tgifridays.com
 
19. Free Mexican food: El Torito is offering veterans a free entree on Veterans Day from a special menu that includes tacos, fajitas and carnitas. ID or a photo of you in uniform is required. On Nov. 11 only. Find locations: eltorito.com
 
20. Free doughnut: Krispy Kreme will give a free doughnut and small coffee to anyone who says they are military or a veteran. At participating locations only. Learn more at www.krispykreme.com.
 
So, go out and get some free goodies at your favorite places. Just remember, most of these deals may require proof of service.
