VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — A man was fatally struck by a vehicle Tuesday as he crossed a street in Van Nuys.

The incident was reported just before 2 a.m. near Vanowen Street and Sepulveda Boulevard, according to police.

Upon their arrival, authorities pronounced the man dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

A preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was not walking in a cross walk when he was struck by the vehicle.

No arrests have been made.
