Police Hunt For 2 Suspects In Home Invasion Robbery Of Elderly Couple In Los Feliz

LOS FELIZ (CBSLA.com)   —  The LAPD is searching for suspects they say committed a violent home invasion robbery in Los Feliz early Saturday morning.

The invasion began around 1:45 a.m. in the 2200 block of N. Edgemont, authorities said.

The homeowners told police that two men in masks entered the home through the doggy door.

The suspects apparently tried to open some safes before going upstairs and confronting the residents, both elderly.

The woman suffered several injuries.

She showed off her wounds to CBS2's Jeff Nguyen.

"They're skin tears. Because they were grabbing me by the arms. They were pulling one way and I'm pulling the other way," the unidentified 73-year-old woman said. (She didn't want her face shown)

"I'm in bed asleep and this figure comes in and startles me. [He says] come with me," she says.

He didn't exactly

The victim told Nguyen one of the crooks dragged her down two flights of stairs. He dragged her face first.

"That's why I was so frightened," she said.

"I was trying to hold my head and my spine so that I didn't end up with a broken neck," she said.

She says the burglars wanted her to help them open a safe.

"They wanted me to open it and I don't know the combination," she said.

When they couldn't get what they were after, they left her in one of the rooms before they ran out. But not before leaving her with a torn ligament, sprained joints, injuries to her ribs and a black eye.

"It puts everything in a quandary," she said, "And you're constantly upset and fearful and on the look out for something going on. It's your worst nightmare."

Police said the robbers made off with a television and a few small things.

Nguyen said the woman's husband is bed-ridden and the suspects tried to rip a a watch off his wrist.
