NWS: Rainfall Expected In LA Area Friday Morning
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A storm capable of generating torrents of mud and debris over slopes that wildfires have stripped of vegetation is headed for the Southland, meteorologists said Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service, rainfall is expected to start in the Los Angeles area after sunrise Friday.
Forecasters expect the storm to unleash between 2 to 4 inches of rainfall along the Central Coast.
The storm will weaken by the time it works its way down to Los Angeles County, where it could bring as much as an inch of rain.
A flash flood watch will be in force through Friday morning in recent burn areas of Los Angeles County in the San Gabriel and Santa Monica mountains, and the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, San Gabriel and Antelope Valleys.

Friday's temperatures will be sharply lower with highs expected to reach the low 70s.
