LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Free kittens! Free kittens! Come get a free kitten!

City animal shelters will offer free cat adoptions Saturday as part of feline-friendly promotions coinciding with National Cat Day.

A grant from the ASPCA will be used to cover the adoption fees, which are $76 for kittens under four months old, until the money runs out. Cats over four months old are already free to adopt.

Those who are unable to make a permanent commitment can also look into fostering kittens and adult cats on a temporary basis.

  1. ME says:

FREE ADOPTION GETS ANIMALS KILLED same reason why Craigslist must take down all free ads. 98% of animals adopted for free end up dead – kittens have to sleep 18hrs a day. Most are killed in negligent families and most families too cheap to pay for a pet, don’t spay/neuter, neglect and end up killing a new pet. Proper background check and a reasonable fee is the ONLY way to ensure a good home. I stand by this 100%
