Orionid Meteor Shower To Peak Overnight

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Keep your eyes to the sky – the Orionid meteor shower is expected to peak this weekend.

The Orionid meteor shower has actually been active since Oct. 4, and is expected to continue through Nov. 14, but Friday night into Saturday morning will likely provide the best nighttime show, according to NASA.

The Orionids are formed by the debris of Halley's comet and are known for being bright and quick.

For optimal meteor shower viewing, find a location as far away from city lights as possible with a clear, unclouded view of the night sky.
