Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle While Crossing Street In Mar Vista

MAR VISTA (CBSLA.com) — A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle Friday as she crossed a street in Mar Vista.

The crash unfolded around 2 a.m. in the area of Culver Boulevard and Slauson Avenue, according to police.

A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle called 911 and waited for officers to arrive to the scene.

Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The driver was not arrested.

Detectives said the crash appears to have been accidental.
