Man With A Gun Shot By Deputies In Target Parking Lot

NORWALK (CBSLA) — A deputy-involved shooting Friday in Norwalk left a man injured, but no deputies were hurt, authorities said.

The shooting happened just before 9 a.m. in the parking lot of a Target store in the 10000 block of Firestone Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies went to the location on a report of a man with a gun, officials said.

During the search, a suspect was located in the Target parking lot and a shooting occurred.

A shootout with deputies ensued, and the man shot and wounded himself, authorities said. His name was not immediately released.

The suspect was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of an unspecified injury, authorities said.

No additional injuries were reported.
