2 Women Suspected Of Gunning Down North Hollywood Liquor Store Clerk

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Two women have been arrested in the shooting death of a store clerk during a robbery at a North Hollywood liquor store.

Rosa Barrientos, 21, of Los Angeles, and Maria Inzunza, 25, of Hollywood, were arrested Tuesday and booked on suspicion of murder Los Angeles Police Department Detective Steve Castro said.

The two women are accused of gunning down Mohammed Kalam, 61, of Hollywood, during a robbery of the Liquor Mart at Sherman Way and Bellaire Avenue.

Customers and neighboring business operators said Kalam, a native of Bangladesh, had worked the late shift at the liquor store for many years.

Both women, who were arrested in Hollywood, are being held with a combined bail of $2 million, according to Los Angeles police.
