Reward Offered For Information On Suspects, Person Of Interest In Camp Pendleton Sexual Assault

CAMP PENDLETON (CBSLA.com) — Authorities sought the public's help Tuesday in identifying and locating three men in connection with a sexual assault at Camp Pendleton in May.

On May 26, two women were assaulted by two men on the beach at the Marine Corps base on May 26 at about 3:55 p.m, police said.

One of the suspects was described by police as a Hispanic man in his mid 20s with a heavy build, some type of facial hair, brown eyes, short dark brown hair and a deep voice. The second suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his mid 20s with a medium build.

A third man, who is considered a person of interest in the case, was described as a Hispanic man in his mid 20s with a medium complexion, thin build and dark brown hair with a military style haircut. He has dark brown eyes, stands 5'8" to 5'10" tall and has unknown lettering tattooed on his left shoulder. Police released a photo of him on Tuesday. He was seen with the suspects shortly before the reported assault.

Anyone with information on the identity or location of the suspects or person of interest was being asked to call NCIS at (760) 725-7854 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.

Crime Stoppers is offering as much as $1,000 to anyone with information that leads to an arrest. Anonymous email and text messages can be sent via www.sdcrimestoppers.org.
