'Carrie' Cast To Reunite For Prom-Themed Party, Movie Screening

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Horror movie fans rejoice: there's a bloody good time coming to Los Angeles, and it's all for a good cause.

Next month, cast and crew members of the classic Brian De Palma horror film "Carrie" will reunite for a screening of the movie and a 1970s prom-style party in honor of the film's 40th anniversary.

Organizers say The Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown L.A. will be "transformed with prom-themed decor" and attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite character from the film or wear 70s-style formal attire as part of a "Carrie" costume contest.

The event will help raise funds for the weSPARK Cancer Support Center, where Allen currently serves as executive director.

While Sissy Spacek, who played the title role in the original film, isn't expected to attend, other cast members scheduled to be on hand include Oscar-nominated Piper Laurie, Nancy Allen, William Katt, and P.J. Soles.

The cast will participate in a live Q&A moderated by Bryan Fuller, the screenwriter and producer behind TV's "Hannibal" and "Pushing Daisies".

Tickets start at $25 for the Oct. 14 event. All proceeds will directly benefit weSPARK's cancer support programs, according to event organizers.
