Fire At Disneyland Hotel Causes Brief Evacuation

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) - A small fire in the basement of the Disneyland Hotel today triggered the temporary evacuation of three floors at the high-rise structure.

One Disneyland firefighter suffered a minor case of smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene, said Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt.

Firefighters dispatched at 5:45 a.m. to 1150 Magic Way quickly put out the fire, which generated a large amount of smoke that traveled through the basement tunnel and into the vents, prompting the evacuation of the hotel's first three floors, he said.

"It (the evacuation) lasted for 60 to 90 minutes. Guests were relocated to another tower," he said. "No guests were at risk."
