Woman Stabbed While Waiting In Line At Taco Truck In East LA

EAST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 29-year-old woman was stabbed while waiting in line at a taco truck in East Los Angeles, police said Thursday.

The stabbing occurred around 10 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Clela Avenue, according to sheriff's deputies.

Detectives said an unknown man grabbed the victim by her neck from behind and tried to drag her away.

The suspect stabbed the woman several times with a folding knife.

At one point, a good Samaritan jumped out of a car and attempted to stop the suspect by using a crowbar.

Upon their arrival, deputies prevented the altercation from continuing.

Paramedics transported the woman to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Hospital officials are evaluating the medical condition of the suspect, who was believed to be under the influence of methamphetamine.

Authorities said the suspect will most likely face attempted murder and kidnapping charges in connection with the random attack.

The investigation is ongoing.
