GoFundMe Account Established For Dog Found Suffering From Severe Chemical Burns

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) —  Animal-control officers who found a dog named Max don't know much about him other than he is in extreme need of help.

Max was found with chemical burns over most of his back on Aug. 23 in San Bernardino. He was rescued about a week later by a group called Doggy Smiles.  Max is on the mend at the Pets R' Us veterinary clinic in Palmdale.

The dog, a Cane Corso, was apparently microchipped. The owners allegedly told Doggy Smiles they gave the dog to someone, but don't know who.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Max heal. The group wrote, "This poor boy has been through too much. He needs the opportunity to heal and find a loving home."

Doggy Smiles says Max is the fourth dog they have rescued with similar chemical burns this year.
