Fullerton Police Seek Vandal Who Has Been Shooting At Homes, Businesses, Vehicles

FULLERTON (CBSLA.com) — Fullerton police need your help finding the serial vandal who has been shooting at homes, businesses and vehicles.

Douglas Maughan sifted through shattered glass in his back yard and wondered who would do this to him and his Fullerton neighbors.

He worried about the kind of weapon the shooter is using. "If they're using a higher-caliber weapon, then it means somebody might be injured by the bullet either on a ricochet or a direct hit or something," Maughan said. "Obviously, you don't want to be in a position where you might be hit by a bullet."

Thirteen window panels along North Parks Road were shot out Saturday night alone, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Police said this kind of vandalism has been rampant in Fullerton since June - 85 homes, businesses and vehicles were hit.

Detectives said they suspect the shooter used a BB, pellet or airsoft gun. But whatever it was, one of the shots even penetrated what one business said was a bulletproof window.

No one has been caught. The crimes usually happen on the weekend.

Investigators said they believe the shots were fired from a car.
