Small Plane Loses Control On Takeoff At Fullerton Airport And Crashes Into 3 Parked Planes

FULLERTON (CBSLA.com)   —  A small plane lost control while taking off at Fullerton Airport on Wednesday evening and crashed into three parked planes.

The crash happened just before 6 p.m., authorities said.

The single engine Siai Martchetti SF-260 tried to lift off but ended up veering across a runway, slamming into three other planes and then ending up in a hangar.

The aircraft sustained major damage, officials reported. The extent of the damage done to the parked planes was not immediately clear.

The pilot and his passenger were not injured seriously. Both were treated at the scene.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
