LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Mayor Eric Garcetti Tuesday introduced plans for creating new, good-paying jobs across Los Angeles County.

Garcetti addressed hundreds of construction works at Greenland USA’s Metropolis, located just two blocks from the Staples Center and L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles.

Following his remarks, the mayor toured the property.

Metropolis will span two full city blocks, connecting the financial and entertainment districts, while providing guests and residents a new standard for urban living.

Phase one of the project is scheduled for completion later this year.

The second phase is slated to finish in 2018.

Mr. Mayor, we are short 2,000 jobs in the Parks and Recreation Department. Older workers who now comprise 60% of the work force are now getting hurt and sick! Why not start here first with your program. The positions are available now!

  2. Wobb Les says:

Want to create jobs? Require e-verify so illegals aren’t taking half the jobs that already exist like they are now then lower taxes and regulations so businesses aren’t ham-stringed paying for bloated and corrupt local government.
