Tina The Alligator Moving From Pasadena To LA

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Staff and volunteers at the Pasadena Humane Society bid farewell Tuesday to Tina, an alligator who's lived at their facility for 18 years.

Tina is moving to the LA Zoo, where she'll join a well-known alligator named Reggie.

Humane society officials say they've enjoyed having Tina for almost two decades, but believe the move is right.

Tina is seven feet long and weighs about 100 pounds. She'll be transported to the zoo Wednesday.

Tina was taken in by the Humane Society 18 years ago after a traveling wildlife exhibition closed because of permitting issues.

According to a press release, the arrangement was supposed to be temporary, but the society's staff ended up building a 150-square foot enclosure with a pond area and waterfall just for Tina.

Tina served as a star attraction for many student tours at the Humane Society.
