Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murdering Stepson During His Birthday Party
VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com) — A 76-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting his stepson during his birthday party, police said Monday.
The shooting unfolded around 7:38 p.m. Saturday at a home located in the 13900 block of Palomino Court, according to the Victorville Police Department.
Upon their arrival, authorities located a Hispanic man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. He was later identified as 45-year-old Anthony Ledesma.
A preliminary investigation revealed Ledesma was celebrating his birthday at the home. During the party, he attacked his stepfather, Ernesto Holguin.
Holguin fired several rounds at his stepson, striking him numerous times.
Authorities detained Holguin at the scene. He was later booked into the High Desert Detention Center on suspicion of murder.
The investigation is ongoing.
