HESPERIA (CBSLA.com) — A Hesperia man is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on child sexual-abuse charges.

Humberto Escobar, 76, was arrested Friday after an investigation by the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department.

According to a Sheriff’s Department news release, the investigation began after several accusations of child sexual abuse were made against Escobar.

The abuse was alleged to have taken place at Escobar Family Child Care in Hesperia.

Escobar was booked at High Desert Detention Center in Victorville on a charge of penetration with a foreign object with a child less than 10 years old.

Bail was set at $500,000.
