68-Year-Old Adelanto Man Accused Of Committing Lewd Acts With Underage Female Acquaintance

ADELANTO (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities in Adelanto have announced the arrest of a 68-year-old man they said repeatedly molested and committed lewd acts on an underage female acquaintance.

Officials said they first received word about the molestation allegation in May by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The reporting party told authorities her child said that she was molested by a person known to the victim and her family.

The female juvenile, who is now 15 years-old, said she was repeatedly molested by Alan Wayne "Rusty" Bursby. During the investigation, evidence was recovered allegedly substantiating the allegations.

On Monday, Bursby was arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $350,000 bail. Today, the San Bernardino County D.A.'s Office filed felony criminal charges on Bursby for continued sexual abuse of a juvenile under 14 years of age.

Bursby is employed as a maintenance worker for several apartment complexes within the Victor Valley area and goes by the name "Rusty".
