"He was a strong, silent type, a very kind and generous, loving person," said Joan Bacon of her husband, John.

"I'm still just processing if this is even my new reality," she said.

Soon after the accident, police released security footage, which shows a white Ford F-150 tailing Bacon on his bicycle moments before he was hit.

Detectives say, since then, they've interviewed the driver of the pick-up, but no arrests have been made.

Now, the Bacon family is asking the drivers and bicyclists who passed the accident scene minutes after it a happened to come forward with information. They hope witnesses will go to police about what they saw.

"John was such an experienced and safe bicyclist," said Joan. "He was just going on a bike ride. I would just like to know what happened."
