2 Brothers Identified In Baldwin Hills Shooting

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two brothers were identified Tuesday as the men killed in a shooting in the Baldwin Hills area.

The shooting happened at 11:30 p.m. Sunday outside an apartment building at 4031 Stevely Ave., Los Angeles police said.

Olajuwon Ashley, 24, and Orlando Ashley, 25, both of Los Angeles, were declared dead at the scene, coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. The men are believed to have been brothers.

According to a GoFundMe page established in their name, Orlando Ashley was a chef, while Olajuwon Ashley worked as a security guard who dreamed of becoming a professional boxer.

The family is hoping to raise $9,000 to help with the costs of burying the brothers in their home city of Michigan City, Ind.

There was no suspect description, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting can call (877) LAPD-247 (5273-247).
