LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are responding to reports of a body found near the Sand Fire in Santa Clarita.

The body of a man was found on the 26000 block of Iron Canyon Road in Santa Clarita at around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday night.

The body was found in an area that had been evacuated, and where at least one home was burned.

It is unclear whether the remains were found inside a structure, outside, or inside a car.

The Sand Fire has burned over 20,000 acres and forced the evacuation of 1,500 homes.

The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Department is currently at the scene.
