VENTURA (AP) — Police say a Ventura resident who heard noises in his backyard went outside and found a man in his hot tub.

According to The Ventura County Star, the resident confronted the intruder, who ran off late Tuesday.

Police found the suspect on the roof of a neighboring house. The 47-year-old was arrested without incident on suspicion of prowling.

The suspect, described by officials as a transient, could face other charges including parole violation and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
