Clippers Among 6 Teams Reportedly Set To Meet With Kevin Durant Amid Start Of Free Agency

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — As Kevin Durant mulls his future as the NBA's most sought-after free agent, the Clippers are among six teams that will meet with Durant this week, according to reports.

Durant will hold something of a summit of his suitors in the Hamptons this weekend, CBS Sports reported.

Before the NBA free agency officially begins Friday, Durant will meet with his current team, the Thunder, on Thursday in Oklahoma City. (Durant is in Los Angeles ahead of that meeting to film a TV commercial).

Free agents are not permitted to talk about contracts with any team -- even their current team -- ahead of the free agency deadline on Friday. But Durant is permitted to talk with the Thunder about other topics, including the team's future direction.

On Friday in the Hamptons, Durant is scheduled to meet with the Warriors, followed by the Spurs Saturday. Three teams -- the Clippers, Celtics and Heat -- will then meet with Durant Sunday in the Hamptons.

The Lakers are also interested in signing Durant, but haven't been granted a face-to-face meeting, CBS Sports said.

Durant is interested in making a decision about his future before July 9, when he travels abroad ahead of this summer's Olympic Games in Rio, CBS Sports reported, citing a report by The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
