Riverside Police Arrest 2 Murder Suspects After Finding Human Remains In Shallow Grave

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com)  —   The Riverside Police Department announced the arrest of two suspects wanted for a homicide.

Acting on a tip Saturday morning around 6 a.m., police searched an open field near the dead-end of Rubidoux Boulevard.

About four hours later, human remains were found in a shallow grave.

Detectives later arrested two suspects -- Jesus Renteria, 24,  and Richard Valles, 32, both residents of Riverside. Both suspects were booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for murder.

Detectives were assisted in their search by members of Search Dog Resources, who specialize in cadaver searches, as well as the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner's Office.

The cause of death and the victim's identity is pending autopsy and notification of next of kin.

"The assistance provided by the members of Search Dog Resources was invaluable. The team work and diligence of the canines and their handlers was the key to locating the crime scene. Without their assistance we may not have found the victim," explained Detective Rick Cobb.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call Detective Rick Wheeler at (951) 353-7134 or Cobb at (951) 353-7135.
