WILLOWBROOK (CBSLA.com) —  Authorities on Thursday evening announced the gruesome discovery of two burned bodies inside an SUV in Willowbrook.

Sky2’s Stu Mundel said the discovery started with the report of a car fire on 124th Street, just next to Athens Park.

LA County Fire responsed to the scene and put the fire out.

Upon inspection, investigators found two bodies in the vehicle.

Mundel reported that officials think the bodies found belonged to homeless people who may have been using the vehicle for shelter.

The Sheriff’s Department has called homicide detectives to the scene. The coroner has also been called.
