Hot, Dry Weather Expected To Scorch Southland Through The Weekend

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Hot and dry conditions are expected to last through the rest of the week, meteorologists said Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, areas away from the coast will reach highs in the 90s and some interior valleys will reach highs in the 100s.

Temperatures will be several degrees above normal.

By Friday, the humidity level will drop between 6 and 12 percent in the interior valleys and some mountain areas.

Gusty west-to-north winds may lead to elevated fire danger by Thursday or Friday.

A high surf advisory will remain in effect until 10:00 p.m. Thursday. Forecasters expect surf to reach 4 to 7 feet and sets of up to 9 feet in some areas.
