Hit-And-Run Driver In Granada Hills Turns Himself In After Allegedly Making Obscene Gesture After Striking 2 Pedestrians

GRANADA HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities said that the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident in Grananda Hills Friday that left one pedestrian in critical condition has turned himself in.

After striking a woman in her 50s and a female teenager, the driver reportedly made an obscene gesture before fleeing.

Officials on Saturday said the driver is a male juvenile.

The crash took place around 9:50 p.m. Friday in the area of Chatsworth Street just west of Balboa Boulevard and Genesta Avenue, according to police.

At this time, the woman remains listed in critical condition. The teenager sustained minor injuries and is expected to survive.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victims crossed the street in the middle of a block, located outside of an intersectionm near Balboa Boulevard when they were struck.

The investigation is ongoing.
