BOYLE HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities said one office was seriously injured Friday evening in a confrontation with two suspects in Boyle Heights.

He was rushed to USC Medical Center.

Another officer was also injured but his injuries were reportedly not serious. The officer was allegedly suffering from neck pain.

One suspect was reportedly killed, while the second was injured.

Stu Mundel reporting in Sky9 said, "Police are not searching for suspects."

The incident took place at the corner of Lorena and Lee, Mundel reported.

"From that point," Mundel reported, "it gets a little gray out here."

KCAL9's Tom Wait reported that an officer was shot in  an exchange of gunfire with the suspects.

The officer was reportedly in "serious but stable condition." His family is with him at the hospital.

Initially it was reported that officers were responding to a call about a stabbing but police have now discounted that report.
