Man's Death In Canoga Park Investigated As A Possible Hit-And-Run

CANOGA PARK (CBSLA.com) — An investigation is underway Thursday into a suspected hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian in Canoga Park.

A body was found in the 8700 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard at the intersection with Parthenia Street about 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to an officer at LAPD's Valley Traffic Division.

The pedestrian, described as a Hispanic man in his 70s,  was pronounced dead at the scene, and his name was withheld pending family notification.

No information about the possible-hit-and-run driver or the vehicle was immediately available, but the suspect vehicle is believed to have sustained front-end damage.

Police say a reward of up to $50,000 is available to anyone who can provide information leading to the suspect's identification, apprehension and conviction. Anyone with information about the man's death can call the LAPD Valley Traffic Division at (818) 644-8000.
