Deadly Crash Closes Portion Of Southbound 5 Freeway In Arleta

ARLETA (CBSLA.com) — A man was killed Monday in a traffic collision along the 5 Freeway in Arleta.

According to California Highway Patrol officers, a vehicle and a motorcycle collided shortly before 3:00 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway at Osborne Street.

Paramedics pronounced an adult man dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Authorities have not clarified if the victim was the motorcycle rider.

Officers subsequently issued a SigAlert, shutting down all southbound lanes of the freeway just north of Osborne Street. Just before 5:30 a.m., officials reopened all of the lanes.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
