Shoppers Flock To Downtown's California Flower Mall For Mom

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Vendors were pushing petals Sunday as shoppers in downtown LA's California Flower Mall handed over their cash, and all in the name of mom!

"I am looking for flowers to get me mom," said Isabel Nunez, who at the young age of 7 knows what she wants, explaining that she was looking for "something that really pops out" for her mom.

And she had a lot of choices at the mall with 40 vendors present. It is part of LA's Flower District, which is the largest in the country.

Jose Macias has been selling flowers in the area for 20 years. By Sunday morning, he was almost sold-out.

"Downtown is the best place to come and buy flowers," said Dulce Jimenez, a shopper. "I actually got these for $11 and look how beautiful they are."

Deals included two dozen dozens for $15 and small bouquets for $8.
