Man, Woman Found Dead Inside Santa Clarita Home

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Friday investigated the circumstances surrounding the deaths of a man and woman in Canyon County.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, deputies were sent shortly after 6:00 p.m. Thursday to a home located in the 19000 block of Pleasantdale Street.

"When homicide detectives arrived, they learned that Santa Clarita deputies responded to the location to check on the welfare of the residents," said Deputy Trina Schrader. "The informant in the call stated they had not seen the residents of the home for several weeks and there was a strong odor emitting from the home."

Authorities located an adult man and woman deceased inside of the residence. Their bodies were in advanced stages of decomposition.

"It is believed that both individuals reside at that residence," Schrader added. "Detectives are following up on how and when each of the victims died."

The identities of the man and woman are being withheld pending family notification.

An autopsy is pending to determine their cause of deaths.

At this time, foul play is not expected as a factor.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding this case has been urged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
