Armed Man Wanted In Several Mid-City Robberies
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An armed man was captured on surveillance video committing several robberies at businesses in the Mid-City area, and police asked for the public's help Wednesday to identify him.
The suspect committed three robberies and two attempted robberies between April 23-29, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The robberies happened in four locations on Pico, Western Avenue and Washington Boulevard.
In each incident, the suspect would casually walk into a business carrying bags that he placed on the cashier's counter. He would then lift up his sweatshirt and display a handgun while ordering employees to place money into the bag.
The gunman made away with a large amount of money from three of the robberies and was last seen fleeing on a BMX bicycle. He is black, between 20 and 30 years of age, 5-foot-8 and about 180 pounds.
Anyone with any information regarding the robberies or the suspect can call (213) 382-9102.
