Mother Claims Her Son Was Molested At A Pacoima Preschool

PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) —  A mother claimed a teacher's aid at a Pacoima preschool molested her son.

Daisy Munoz said a couple of weeks ago, her three-year-old son told her what his teacher's aid at Miguel Montes Preschool had been doing to him.

In Spanish, she said: "He told me his teacher was touching him in his private parts."

Munoz said her son's behavior has changed after being molested by the female teacher's aid. She said "he now has nightmares, wets the bed, is afraid to go outside and doesn't want to undress."

Miguel Montes is a head-start preschool run by Child Care Resource Center. A representative told CBS2/KCAL9's Andrea Fujii on the phone that once they were told about the incidents, they contacted police and assigned the teacher's aid to administrative duty. But the spokesperson would not specify if the teacher's aid was still working at the school.

But Munoz said she worries for other students. She said "today, he [her son] mentioned that his friends were also being touched by the teacher."

The family has hired an attorney who hopes the parents of other possible victims will speak up.

"Pretending like it didn't happen will not make it go away. You need to come forward. You need to get your child the help that they need," attorney Amy Vahdat said.

Meanwhile, Munoz said her son is not going to school anymore and wants justice for him.

"It's very difficult to see," she said. "My kid is so little and suffering from something he shouldn't be suffering from."

The boy's family planned to file a lawsuit against the parent company of the school Wednesday.
