Local Teen Gains Virtual Fame After Asking Taylor Swift To Prom In Viral Video

SAN GABRIEL (CBSLA.com) — Home video of a 17-year-old asking pop star Taylor Swift to the prom has gone viral.

Tony Rodela has not yet received an answer to his question but hopes he hears soon.

Rodela shot the video on his birthday with his buddy in March. Since then, it's been viewed tens of thousands of times.

"I'm her No. 1 fan. She is beautiful," said Rodela, who loves Swift so much, in fact, he has her posters pinned up next to his family's portraits.

In fact, he isn't letting the fact that Swift has a boyfriend deter him.

"I know they went to Coachella last week," he said.

Rodela hopes he hears from Swift. Prom is May 14th.
