Woman Killed, 1 Injured In Crash On 105 Freeway In South LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 25-year-old woman was killed Thursday and a second person was injured after their vehicles collided on the westbound 105 Freeway in South Los Angeles.

Around 2:15 a.m., a Ford Fusion struck a Toyota Prius that spun out of control on the freeway.

The driver of the Prius was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The second victim was hospitalized in unknown condition. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

There were reports that a passenger who traveled in the Fusion fled from the scene, but authorities did not confirm those reports.

CBS2's Jennifer Kim reported traffic was backed up for miles after a SigAlert was cleared around 6:00 a.m.
