SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — At least one person was killed Tuesday morning after an SUV struck a tree in Simi Valley.

The crash happened near Alamo Street and Sycamore Drive at about 5:09 a.m. Tuesday, Simi Valley police said.

The SUV struck several trees and came to rest near one tree west of Sycamore Drive.

Officials did not release information about the person who died or the possible cause of the crash.

Police say motorists should avoid Alamo between Sycamore Drive and Erringer Road for the morning commute as investigators continue to comb through the wreckage.
