Man Reported Missing In Santa Monica Is Found Alive

SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — A man in his 20s who was reported missing in Santa Monica by friends has been found alive, lifeguards said Sunday.

Crews had spent hours earlier in the day looking for the man before authorities called off the search.

Just before 1:20 p.m., authorities said the man was found alive. No further details were released.

The search was initially launched for a missing swimmer but turned to a missing person as no one had seen the man actually go into the water.

Emergency crews combed the beach for hours to no avail. That search had been called off just before 6 a.m.
