Greater-Alarm Fire Tears Through Woodland Hills Apartment Building

WOODLAND HILLS (CBSLA.com) —   Authorities said a greater-alarm fire tore through a building at a large apartment complex in Woodland Hills Saturday night.

Officials said one person was being assessed at the scene for a possible injury.

The blaze was reported just after 8 p.m. at the Warner Villa Apartments complex in the 5800 block of North Topanga Canyon Boulevard, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Ninety firefighters responded to the scene and had the fire knocked down in about 40 minutes, Humphrey said.

Sky9 was quickly over the fire and flames could be seen shooting up through the roof.

A stretch of Topanga Canyon Boulevard was closed between Oxnard Street and the Ventura (101) Freeway as firefighters battled the blaze.
