Fire Crews Knock Down San Bernardino Brush Fire Near 210 Freeway

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters battled a wind-driven brush fire in San Bernardino early Saturday morning.

The fire began around 12 a.m. in a San Bernardino backyard and then spread in the area of the SB 210 Freeway and the H Street off-ramp.

The fire was possibly started by downed power lines from strong winds, a fire dispatcher said.

About 15 homes were threatened at one point, the San Bernardino Fire Department said, and some residents evacuated voluntarily.

The 210 Freeway was temporarily closed during the firefight.

No injuries were reported.

Fire crews said they had the fire under control by about 3 a.m. and were continuing to mop up on Saturday morning.
