Crews Battle Brush Fire In Santa Clarita Area

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — A brush fire was burning Friday in the Santa Clarita area.

The second-alarm blaze was reported around 7:12 a.m. near Newhall Ranch Road and Copper Hill Drive, according to a Los Angeles County Fire spokesperson.

It had grown to about 15 acres shortly before 9 a.m., authorities said.

Staff at nearby Albert Einstein Academy choose to evacuate, according to L.A. County Fire.

No structures were threatened.
