Azusa Police Debunk Fake 'Sagging' Ordinance

AZUSA (CBSLA.com) — It's still legal to let your pants hang a little low in Azusa, authorities said Tuesday.

The Azusa Police Department posted a photo on Twitter of a sign telling residents, "Pull up your pants. No one wants to see your underwear."

The sign stated that under a new city ordinance, "#82466," saggers were to be slapped with a $100 fine.

Enforcement was set to begin April 1, in an apparent nod to April Fool's Day.

But police on Tuesday reassured residents that sagging is still legal in the city.
