6 Injured When Bus Slams Into Building In Newport Beach

NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) —  A bus slammed into a building in Newport Beach Sunday evening causing six injuries, officials said.

The crash of the OCTA bus happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Newport Center Drive, authorities said.

Desmond Shaw reporting from Sky9 , said the crash occurred not far from Fashion Island.

It was unclear if the injuries included the driver and passengers. Authorities said six people were taken to the hospital.

The extent of the injuries was unknown.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, officials said.
