Passenger Compared To Superhero For Taking Down Troublemaker On Train

CULVER CITY (CBSLA.com) — A train passenger is being compared to a superhero after he took down another passenger who was harassing riders on the Expo Line light rail in Culver City.

The incident caught on video that later went viral shot by viewer Javier McCormick showed the train was full of passengers Saturday night when a shirtless man appeared to bully others on board.

After pushing a guy's bike, the troublemaker wandered up and down the aisle. Just as the situation appeared to escalate, a bearded, muscular passenger with a tight T-shirt, who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, subdued the troublemaker with a chokehold and tossed him to the floor.

Several comments on the video's YouTube page have compared the man to a Marvel superhero, who was later as fitness trainer Adrian Kaczmarek.

"I didn't want to come up behind him and turn him around and say 'Stop!' because that wasn't going to work," said Kaczmarek. "So, I just wanted to be able to defuse the situation, ideally choke him out and put him down on the floor and stay on top of him until authorities got there."

Deputies arrested the shirtless man at the Culver City station around 9 p.m. Saturday. The 25-year-old is accused of being under the influence of a controlled substance and alcohol.
