Sheriff's Department Investigates Possible East LA Kidnapping

EAST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Detectives from the sheriff's Major Crimes Bureau are investigating the possible kidnapping of a man Saturday in East Los Angeles.

A Sheriff's Department press release said the victims were thought to be a Latino, and the suspect was also Latino.

The unidentified victim was last seen being forced into the suspect's vehicle and driven away, according to Deputy Guillermina Saldana of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.

The incident occurred about 9:51 a.m. in the 300 block of North Rowan Avenue, Saldana said..

KCAL9's Jeff Nguyen reported from the scene where investigators also found spent bullet casings.

In security video, one man is shown sucker punching another man, wearing a white shirt. The man in the white shirt is shown staggering in an attempt to get away. The man who punched him, appears to pull a gun and then pushes the man down some steps.

Ray Villalobos was across the street just before 10 a.m.

He said he heard the shots.

"We were eating, and like I said, we heard several gunshots go off. We didn't think they were actual gunshots at first, but they were. It was multiple gunshots."
